The first stage for the Housing Safety Project (formerly known as Homes for 100 Women) was to undertake a literature review investigating current evidence and best practice (both nationally and internationally) in housing and support models for trans women, cis women and non-binary people and their children at immediate risk of homelessness and violence.

Our discovery phase engaged a special focus on literature that included the voices and lived experiences of women and gender diverse people who have experienced housing instability and family violence. The discovery phase also included expert interviews with agencies delivering gender specific housing and support services in Victoria.

The Discovery Insights Papers set out the findings and recommendations from the discovery phase for the Housing Safety Project. The papers are designed to be read either individually, or collectively to provide a holistic understanding of the current literature on homelessness for women and non-binary people.
